Wow, Karen, you are smart. I had to look up "Kanzashi" cause I didn't know what they were. It looks like the actual Kanzashi flowers have more complicated petal folds, but otherwise, the ones I made are assembled very similarly. I didn't have to starch mine, but I hot glued the button in the middle to hid the sewn rough edges.
I don't think 'smart' is quite the right word... ;) I would love to know how you make yours because I have avoided the Kanzashi's due to the detail involved. I reeeeeaaaally like yours and would like to make some. Maybe you can create a tutorial?
I made these at a project night for a club of med student wives. Cute stuff. If only I could convince the Babe to keep them in her hair.

Cute! Are those flowers on the bottom the Kanzashi(?) flowers? The ones I've seen are glued and starched...
